We are very proud to be chosen as one of the 10 best project applications at smart urban pioneers:
In the future, most people will live in cities. Yet there are many challenges associated with this scenario. With the smart urban pioneers idea contest, smart seeks and supports visionaries who want to make life in cities even more livable.
VOTING TEXT: The Urban Affairs line-up ranges from art exhibitions and performances to readings, discussions, and dedicated workshops. At the same time, each of the festival’s three days focuses on one specific issue: city, space, or people. Beyond the temporary reclamation of public space, the festival sets out to develop ideas and realize projects (together with locals and members of the audience) that help to improve urban life and counter the gentrification trend. Short-term changes for long-term developments are the declared goal, in line with David Harvey’s call for “the right to the city for everyone.” Incidentally, the four-person team behind Urban Affairs had already organized a festival in 2008/2009 – back then with a clear street art focus.
